Case Study: Full AWL System Installation – UK’s Largest Telecommunications Company

Location: Redruth, Cornwall, UK
Client: UK’s Leading Telecom Provider
Duration: 3 Weeks
Health & Safety: Zero incidents, no lost time, no property damage

The Challenge

Airspace Lighting was selected to deliver a complete aircraft warning lighting system for a critical infrastructure site belonging to the UK’s largest telecommunications company. Situated in a high-traffic area for both air and data, the site required full compliance with ICAO and FAA standards, while also integrating with the client’s internal safety and monitoring systems.

 The Solution

Our team successfully installed a structured and robust lighting system across 4 vertical levels, with 2 warning lights per level, totaling 8 WL3000 medium-intensity aircraft warning lights. To ensure full redundancy and reliability, two independent circuits—Circuit A and Circuit B—were installed, running from ground level to the top of the structure.

The system was enhanced with additional safety and control components:

  • UPS-Controlled Panel with integrated power backup

  • Custom-designed Brackets and Mounts

  • Stainless Steel Junction Boxes (x4)

  • Photocells for automatic day/night activation

  • Master Controller for centralized system management

  • BMS Fault Monitoring for real-time alerts and system health checks
